Kapil Dev Suffers A Heart Attack; '83's Pankaj Tripathi Prays For His Speedy Recovery Saying 'Vo Humare Dharohar Hai'

Today, reports of ace cricketer Kapil Dev suffering a heart attack sent shock waves among his fans and well-wishers. The cricketer reportedly underwent an angioplasty and is recuperating in a hospital in Delhi. As soon as the news of him being unwell made it to the internet, all his fans shared Get Well Soon messages for him. Actor Pankaj Tripathi too stated that he is praying for the speedy recovery of Kapil Dev. Pankaj Tripathi essays the role of PR Man Singh in Kabir Khan’s film ’83 based on Team India's 1983 World Cup win.

To ETimes, Pankaj Tripathi said, "Hum pray karenge bhagwaan se ki jald se jald vo swast aur sehetmand hojaye. Vo humare dharohar hai humare desh ke, aur utne hi adhbhut vakyti hai. Bas humari prayers hai, jaldi thik hojaye. (We will pray to God that Kapil Dev recovers soon and becomes healthy. He is our country's heritage and a wonderful person. We are praying for his speedy recovery.)

Apart from Pankaj Tripathi, Shah Rukh Khan too prayed for the speedy recovery of Kapil Dev by making a tweet. Cricketers Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh and many others also tweeted wishing Kapil Dev Get Well Soon.


Speaking of Kapil Dev's health, the hospital released a statement that read, "Cricketer Kapil Dev came to Fortis Escorts Heart Institute (Okhla Road) emergency department at 1:00 am on 23rd October with a complaint of chest pain. He was evaluated and an emergency coronary angioplasty was performed in the middle of night. Currently, he is admitted in ICU and under close supervision of Dr Atul Mathur and his team.
